Araceli	"I ought to be chief" Pg.22	This can refer to the bible as having the need of a ruler, or someone that has a higher power than the rest. In religion this higher power is always seen as God as he is the ruler of all man kind.
Marc	"Beyond the platform there was more enchantment. Some act of God - a typhoon perhaps, or the storm that had accompanied his own arrival..." Pg. 12	This can be seen that them having crashed in this island was an act of God, and that God had created this paradise form island.
Isabella	"There's no village smoke, and no boats," Pg. 29	This can be seen as the Garden of Eden. As the island is described as paradise and that there is no one but animals and nature. This is like the Garden of Eden that is also described as paradise where there was no form of civilization apart from Adam and Eve.
Isabella	"Were hidden by black cloaks, which bore a long silver cross with a hambone frill." Pg. 19	The description of the garments show that by having a cross, the school where they come from is a religious school, especially since the group of boys led by Jack Merridew are a choir and choirs are present in religious school, churches etc.
Araceli	"The conch, I got the right to speak" Pg.44 - Marc	The bible states that we deserve to have a right to speak and to take action in something and in this quotatin we can see how Piggy was claiming his rights, as he held the conch in his hands.
Isabella	"He wants to know what your going to do about the snake-thing" Pg: 35	This refers to the snake in the biblical story Adam and Eve, where the devil is represented in the form of a snake and is what lures Eve into eating the apple. The snake signifies all evil.
Isabella	" We'll have to have hands up like at school" Pg. 33	This reminds us of the 10 commandments that are used in the bible that are the rules/laws that are needed.
Marc	Jack withdrew his attention from the shelter and realized Jack with a start. "Oh hullo, Water? "Jack took up a coconut shell" "Needed that" Pg.50	Showing that he is caring , and in the bible it is mentioned the importance of being caring and loving. The action of the water is humane which is important in the bible.
